August 29, 2011
Police

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VAChesterfield County Police have released the identities of the victims of a domestic related murder that occurred in a home in the 13100 block of Stockleigh Drive.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, police received a call from Pennsylvania police, who asked that officers check the welfare of anyone at the Stockleigh Drive address.  Upon entering the residence police, discovered the bodies of the female occupant of the residence, Carrie P. Egland, 36; a male friend, Scott T. Allred, 40; and his child, 7.

Carrie P. Egland's estranged husband, Leonard J. Egland, 37, was soon developed as a suspect in the incident. He was also a suspect in the homicide of his mother-in-law in Pennsylvania, where he twice exchanged gunfire with police officers. Pennsylvania police later found him in a field in Warwick Township, dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot.
