CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Both of Chesterfield County Utilities Department’s wastewater treatment plants have received Gold and Silver Peak Performance Awards. The Peak Performance Awards program presented by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, or NACWA, recognizes public wastewater treatment facilities for their outstanding compliance records in the 2008 calendar year.
The Falling Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant received the Gold Peak Performance Award which represents 100 percent compliance with a facility’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permits for an entire year. The Proctors Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant received the Silver Peak Performance Award.
“Chesterfield Utilities is an outstanding example of environmental efforts. NACWA is honored to showcase the achievements of Chesterfield County’s, and our nation’s, public wastewater utilities through the Peak Performance Awards Program,” said Ken Kirk, NACWA’s Executive Director.
