Caregiver Connection Support Group
What:   Caregiver Connection is a monthly support group for those who are caring for an adult with physical or cognitive deterioration, usually a parent or spouse.

Advocacy in Local Legislation – Chesterfield Triad
What:   Have you ever wondered how laws and regulations affect your safety, health care, housing, transportation, aging in place, wellbeing, and quality of Life?  Triad’s own Mary Katterfield will speak about where to find the details for legislation under consideration at the state level and how to make your voice heard on topics that impact you. Aging for Life – Chesterfield Council on Aging
What:   What does it mean to grow older? Learn about the experiences that shape us and dialogue on the importance of purpose, relationships, and wellness. Embrace the gift of longevity and the beauty and strengths of growing older. Caring for You, Caring for Me
What:   This 5-week, educational and support program provides family and professional caregivers with an opportunity to:  gain information on various topics related to caregiving, learn methods of coping with the stresses and strains of being a caregiver, share common concerns, and to recognize that they are not alone – others share similar feelings and concerns. Kinship Connection Support Group
What:   Come and join with grandparents and other kin who are raising a child to network, share stories and help each other. Child care is provided. Any interested people may attend.

Fun at the Fairgrounds
What:   Celebrate Active Aging Week as you join others for this free event for adults 50+.  Participate in Health Screenings, flu shots, fitness and wellness activities. Visit vendors who provide a service for older adults with games, door prizes and more! Sponsored by Chesterfield County Senior Advocate, Parks and Recreation and Senior Connections.

Participants will learn how to prepare for emergencies and disasters by understanding the hazards that can affect Chesterfield County, what supplies are needed to sustain themselves for at least 72 hours following a disaster, how to communicate with others and how to stay connected to information relevant to the incident.
