November 16, 9 a.m.- noon 

Southminster Presbyterian Church, 7500 Hull Street Road, North Chesterfield. 

Participants will attend seminars to promote health and safety awareness. Topics will include fire and fall safety, and a demonstration of chair exercise routines. Exhibitors will be present to provide information from Chesterfield Fire.EMS, Chesterfield Police, Chesterfield Sherriff's Office, Office of the Attorney General, Better Business Bureau, and the Office of the Senior Advocate.  To register, please contact the Chesterfield Office of the Senior Advocate at 804-768-7878.

Cool Tools for Vintage Virginians - Council on Aging Meeting
November 30, 9- 10:30 a.m.

Most of us use some form of Assistive technology (AT) in our daily lives, everything from glasses or screen readers to voice-activated remotes and home management systems. Sonja Schaible, AT Acquisition and Aging Coordinator at DARS, will share examples of available technology for seniors and ideas to consider when selecting equipment for your home. Frazelle Hampton Virginia Captioned Telephone Outreach Coordinator at Hamilton Relay, will speak specifically to devices that assist those who are deaf, hard of hearing, Deaf/Blind or experience difficulty speaking.

Lawyers Helping Seniors Clinic
December 11, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Legal documents (will, advanced medical directive, power of attorney) prepared at no cost for eligible Chesterfield seniors.  This program is for individuals who do not have these legal documents prepared.  Appointments are limited and preregistration is required. To confirm eligibility and register, please contact the Chesterfield Office of the Senior Advocate at 804-768-7878.
