A yearlong exhibition at Rockwood Nature Center
October 1, 2012 - September 30, 2013
New Artwork! The Rockwood Nature Center is thrilled to be able to display the artwork of Robert Louis Caldwell for the next year. Robert attended Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated in 2000 with a B.F.A. in communication arts and design. He won several awards in college including an honorable mention in Strathmore Artist Papers’ student illustration contest and a certificate of merit from the Society of Illustrators, which resulted in his work being displayed in New York City. Robert’s work has appeared in numerous national exhibitions, including Birds in Art, Art of the Animal Kingdom, Art and the Animal, and NatureWorks Wildlife Art Show & Sale. In 2009, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin — home to Birds in Art — purchased Robert’s painting “Sewanee Barn (Feral Pigeons)” for its permanent collection.
We appreciate Robert’s willingness to share his talents with the local community and encourage people to support our regional artists. In addition to the pieces on display at the Rockwood nature Center, Robert is represented by Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Berkley Gallery in Warrenton, Virginia.
