Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; minimum of 18 years of age; valid driver's license and good driving record required (negative 2 or better driving points required); must pass a written examination and a physical ability test; must pass an extensive background investigation; must be in good health as determined by a physician following a pre-employment medical examination. Weight in proportion to height (click link for BMI Chart) - (www.chesterfield.gov/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=15337)  vision 20/20 or corrected to 20/25. Pre-employment drug testing and FBI criminal background check required
Duties
Responds to emergency calls and provides services including fire fighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials mitigation, and performs prevention duties; maintains fire equipment, medical equipment, apparatus and facilities. Performs other work as required. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications of having a high school diploma or GED, minimum of 18 years of age at the time of hire and possess a valid driver's license (negative 2 or better driving points required) will be notified by mail of test dates, times and locations. Not all applicants who successfully complete the tests will be contacted for an interview. Chesterfield Fire and EMS is actively recruiting qualified minorities and women.
