New On-Going Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer Logistics Driver – Fire and EMS
Responsibilities and Qualifications: Volunteer driver needed by Logistics Division of Fire and EMS to deliver small packages, supplies and mail between the various fire stations, Administration, Training and Logistics Divisions. Position includes some errand running, occasionally shuttling personnel, fueling staff cars and other light duty functions to assist the Logistics Division. Help the firefighters help our citizens. Volunteer will need a good driving record, and be able to pass a defensive driving class. In addition, this volunteer will be subject to initial and random drug and alcohol testing as well as a background check. The individual would not be required to drive a vehicle larger than a pick up truck or full size van. Hours vary and are flexible; Monday – Friday during the day.
Administrative Assistant - Chesterfield University
Responsibilities and Qualifications: Provide administrative support to Chesterfield University, the learning organization for Chesterfield County employees. Tasks may include computer data entry including class registration information, creating letters and reports in Word and Excel, filing, making copies of training materials, and other projects as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, good attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment. Some college experience preferred.
Clerical Support -- Fire and Emergency Medical Services
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Chesterfield Fire and EMS with important behind the scenes clerical support in the divisions of Fire Administration, Fire and Life Safety or Fire Training and Safety. Help with filing, data entry, answering the phone and general office duties in one of the Fire and EMS division offices. Help our firefighters help our citizens. Background check will be required.
