Chickens are permitted in the agricultural district on property that is at least three acres in size. In residential zoning districts, and in the agricultural district on properties smaller than three acres, keeping chickens is not permitted, and would require approval of a conditional use permit.

The Property Maintenance Division enforces the Virginia Maintenance Code and the Code of Chesterfield through two programs, Neighborhood Enhancement and Property Maintenance Complaints (about suspected building violations).

Divorce -In order to initiate a divorce, it is necessary to file the proper pleadings prepared in accordance with the Code of Virginia and Rules of the Virginia Supreme Court. Trash - Am 65 years old, and heard seniors can have their trash picked up by Chesterfield County- Please contact the Environmental Division's Customer Service Center at 804-748-1297 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
