Crime of the Week
The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program is asking for your help to solve a hit-and-run crash.
During the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, two cars were parked side-by-side in the south lot of the Wawa at 6001 Iron Bridge Road. A late-model Jeep Cherokee pulled from its parking spot in the west lot and violently struck the two parked vehicles as it circled the store. One of the parked vehicles was struck so hard that it was moved approximately 5 feet from its original parked location. The Jeep then sped away onto Cogbill Road, heading east toward Meadowbrook High School.
Surveillance cameras captured images of the driver and passenger of the Jeep. The driver was a black male in his late 20s. He was approximately 6 feet tall and 200 pounds. He had a mustache and tall, thick hair on top of his head with shorter hair on the sides. He wore a blue denim coat with dark sleeves. The passenger was approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build. He had a mustache and goatee, and he was wearing tan shoes, blue jeans, a long, light-colored shirt, a brown jacket and a white and dark-colored cap.
Pictures of the suspect and the vehicle can be seen by visiting the Crime of the Week page of www.crimesolvers.net.
