Crime of the Week
Shortly before 9 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, an off-duty Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Deputy was working security at the Addison at Swift Creek Apartments on Lonas Parkway in Chesterfield County. Suddenly and without warning, he was fired upon by a suspect in a passing vehicle. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect's vehicle exited the clubhouse parking lot nearest Building 4901. The vehicle made a quick maneuver in front of the deputy's parked car and an occupant in the vehicle opened fire on the deputy. Thankfully, the deputy was not struck. The suspect vehicle immediately fled the scene toward Hull Street Road.
Chesterfield County Police and Crime Solvers are again turning to the public for assistance with this case. If you have any information regarding this incident, or saw anything suspicious in the area of the incident between the hours of 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 11, 2015, pass your tip anonymously through Crime Solvers. If your tip helps resolve this attempted capital murder, Crime Solvers is guaranteeing your eligibility for a no-questions-asked $1,000 cash reward.
Friends and family of the deputy sheriff have offered an additional cash reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s).
