Chesterfield County’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit # VA0088609 was reissued to the county on December 17, 2014. The purpose of the permit is to authorize the discharge of stormwater from the MS4 and require the implementation of programs which manage stormwater and reduce the discharge of pollutants to surface waters.

A component of the county’s permit, TMDL Action Plans, requires the development of programs to reduce specific pollutants in the county’s waterways. The Bacteria TMDL Action Plan provides a framework for Chesterfield County’s efforts to reduce discharges of bacteria from MS4 sources.

Chesterfield County encourages residents to review the Plan and offer comments. When submitting comments, please indicate in the subject line “Bacteria TMDL Action Plan” and include your name and any organizational affiliation name.

Written comments can be emailed to Stormwater Manager or submitted by mail or in person to the address below.
