Community and General Growth Information 


Demographic Information

The population of Chesterfield County was estimated to be 316,000 as of January 1, 2010. The Planning Department projects the county's population to grow to 370,000 by 2020.


Economic Information

As of January 1, 2009, there was over 69 million square feet of Commercial and Industrial development in Chesterfield County. In 2008, new construction added 1,318,260 square feet of commercial and industrial space.


Housing Information

As of January 1, 2009, there were 97,962 single-family and 20,453 multi-family housing units, and 1,895 mobile homes in parks in Chesterfield County. Housing construction in 2008 resulted in 1,012 new single-family units and 452 new multi-family units, bringing the county total to 120,310 units.
