Community Corrections Services - Center of Risk Reduction

The Center of Risk Reduction (CORR) provides a sentencing alternative to the Courts of Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights. This alternative program is founded on evidence-based practices and fills the gap for those who have an identified need for treatment based on risk factors and are between probation and jail or prison, both in terms of severity and personal restrictions imposed on the offender. An individual sentenced to CORR must report frequently, often daily, to the program, which not only monitors his/her activities and whereabouts, but also assesses the offender's treatment needs and provides rehabilitative services onsite. Participants, referred by the courts, probation, or self, are required to seek or maintain appropriate employment and perform community service. By providing treatment and educational resources, offenders are given the opportunity to become employed, drug free, and contributing, pro-social members of our community.

Services

The Center of Risk Reduction Staff, as members of the criminal justice community, are committed to providing effective supervision and treatment to offenders. Supervision of CORR participants is maintained to promote public safety and enable personal change and accountability. The goals are accomplished through a comprehensive intake process, individualized treatment planning and structured supervision. A number of services are offered by the CORR including:

  • Intensive Supervision
  • Job Readiness (Employment Development)
  • Educational Services
  • Straight Ahead (Substance Use Disorders Education and Recovery)
  • Seeking Safety (Co-occurring Trauma and Substance Use Disorders)
  • Random Drug/Alcohol Testing
  • Community Service
  • Moral Reconation Therapy (Cognitive Behavioral modification program)
  • Individual and Family Counseling
