Community Corrections Services - Dual Treatment Track Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for services at the Dual Treatment Track (DTT)? 

The Dual Treatment Track serves substance-addicted offenders who are also diagnosed with a mental health disorder.  The target population is dually diagnosed individuals who are awaiting trial.  Individuals are excluded based on a prior record of violence (as defined by 17.1-805 and 19.2-297.1 of the Criminal Code of Virginia), arson, or felony sex offenses.

What is the duration of services offered to clients at the Dual Treatment Track?    

Services at the DTT are self-paced.  It takes a minimum of nine months to complete the core curriculum

What services are provided at the DTT?  

Services include intensive supervision, outpatient substance abuse therapy, mental health focused groups, individual/family counseling, frequent drug testing, psychiatric services and Moral Reconation Therapy.

How does an individual receive services from the DTT?  

Most clients are referred to the DTT from the court, defense counsel and self-referral as a pretrial or post trial alternative to jail.
