The mission of the Chesterfield County Department of Building Inspection is to ensure compliance with the governing building codes for the safety of our residents and visitors.

New Code Edition Effective 7/14/14 

The 2012 edition of the Uniform Statewide Building Code (USBC) became effective on July 14, 2014. During the one-year grace period, which ends on July 13, 2015, the designer or permit applicant may use either the 2009 edition or the 2012 edition. Access to the 2012 edition of the code is available at the following links (and from the right sidebar while on other Building Inspection web pages):
