First Responder

As an Emergency Communications Officer (ECO) you are the first responder.  You will

  • Take the 9-1-1 calls.
  • Initiate an emergency response.
  • Provide lifesaving instructions. 
  • Provide a lifeline not only to the public, but also to our emergency responders;
    • Police
    • Fire
    • Emergency medical services
    • Sheriff
    • Animal services


An Emergency Communications Officer dispatches appropriate public safety personnel and equipment within seconds while working in a high security environment using the latest technologies.  Our 9-1-1 call center consists of state of the art equipment to provide rapid and accurate responses.


All Emergency Communications Officers receive intensive and exciting training in

  • 9-1-1 call handling
  • Emergency Medical Dispatch
  • Public safety radio operations

New hires will receive

  • Classroom training
  • On-the-job training with a Communications Training Officer (CTO)
