Our Mission
The Chesterfield County Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center's mission is to create and develop collaborative criminal justice responses, provide culturally sensitive services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking and to promote healthy relationships.
Our Vision
The Chesterfield County Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center leads the effort to eliminate domestic violence in our community by strengthening the County's response through the development of innovative and collaborative solutions that provide safety for victims and accountability for offenders.
Office Description
The Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center is a county office located within the Chesterfield Community Corrections Services. The center serves as the hub for the County's coordinated response to domestic and sexual violence. The center works closely with Chesterfield County agencies and service providers to enhance the understanding of individual components of the system's response to domestic violence while identifying opportunities for collaboration and improvement. A goal of the center is to develop county wide policies and practices that consistently value victim safety and offender accountability.
The center works with the Chesterfield: Police Department, Commonwealth Attorney's Office, Victim Witness Program, Community Services Board, Social Services, Health Department, Magistrates Office, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Courts, Community Corrections and Pretrial Services and networks with domestic and/or sexual violence victim and offender services to develop common goals and integrated services for families in crisis.
The center acts as a resource for county wide service providers, victims or offenders as appropriate, by assisting to link professionals and citizens with available services in the community.
