Systems Management
In 2008, Chesterfield County migrated to IFAS – the Integrated Financial and Administrative Solution, a web-based ERP product distributed by Sungard Public Sector. Financial Systems manages the financial modules listed below coordinating change management, helpdesk and security review to ensure appropriate controls are in place to maintain the integrity of data and reports.

Report Writing
Develop and enhance reports from the county’s financial systems using PC based reporting tools and web technology, where applicable.
Fixed Asset Management
Maintain, record, reconcile and report fixed asset transactions for all county and school locations. Coordinate the annual fixed asset inventory utilizing bar coding technology . Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles for fixed asset transactions and reporting.
Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable
Perform billing functions on behalf of other departments. Some of the services that we bill include:
- Use of off duty police officers
- Animal Control promissory notes
- Water bacteriological sample testing
- Relocation of water service lines and/or replacement of meter boxes
- Wastewater treatment facility usage
- Weed removal
- Traffic offense civil penalties
Distributed Systems & Applications Support
Develop and coordinate implementation of information systems strategy, including software and hardware for the Accounting Department. Provide first level support for PC issues to determine problem/causes of errors, recommend user training, train users on software applications and coordinate with Information Systems Technology staff on purchases and installation of software and hardware upgrades.
Automation Projects
Responsible for planning, coordinating, analyzing, developing, testing, upgrading and implementing accounting systems throughout the county.
