Zoning Code Compliance

Request an inspection or learn more about how zoning code compliance can contribute to clean, attractive and safe neighborhoods.

Code violations are primarily addressed on a complaint basis. However, there are active enforcement measures and programs including an active sign removal program for illegal portable signs in the right of way as well as a pro-active code compliance program that operate within the Code Compliance Office. The Pro-Active Code Compliance Program is a Community Development Block Grant Program made possible by funding through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

For more information on Pro-Active Code Compliance programs please call (804) 748-1500. For specific information on Weed enforcement and the volunteer sign removal program please contact Brian Chamberlain at (804) 748-1541. For information on the CDBG funded active inspection programs please contact Jessica Wright at (804) 748-1537 (Jeff-Davis corridor neighborhoods) and Brenda Henderson at (804) 748-1820 (Jeff-Davis corridor and Ettrick Village neighborhoods).
