Rebecca T. Dickson,
Deputy County Administrator for Human Services
 Rebecca T. Dickson is Deputy County Administrator for Human Services. She was appointed to this position on May 1, 2006. Prior to being appointed Deputy, she served as Director of Budget and Management for the county since July 1997. Since joining the county in 1990, she has served in various capacities in the Budget and Management Office including Fiscal Impact Analyst, Capital Finance Administrator and Assistant Director of the Department. As Deputy County Administrator, she oversees the operations of Community Corrections Services, Court Services, Extension Services, Health Department, Juvenile Detention Home, Libraries, Lucy Corr Nursing Home, Mental Health Services, Parks and Recreation, Senior Advocate, Social Services, Youth Group Home, Youth Planning and Development and also serves as liaison for the courts, the Lucy Corr Nursing Home and the county’s victim witness program. She is on the Henricus Foundation Board, Senior Connections Board, Community Criminal Justice Board, Central Virginia Health Planning Agency Advisory Council and is Chair of the Comprehensive Services Management Team. She serves in an advisory capacity to the Health Center Commission,
Prior to joining the county in 1990, she was vice president of a commercial and residential real estate development company in McLean, Virginia for five years.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University in Business Administration and Management with a concentration in Finance, in July 1983. She has completed the core course work for a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning. She has also attended Leadership Metro Richmond (2005),the Senior Executive Institute at the University of Virginia (2003) and completed training in the Baldrige criteria as an examiner for the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award Program. She was one of the first certified Total Quality Improvement instructors in the county earning this certification spring, 1993.
Dickson is a member of the Virginia Local Government Managers Association and a past member of the Board of the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award and the International City Mangers Association.
