Environmental Division Curbside Recycling Fact Sheet

Chesterfield County offers a biweekly curbside recycling program to more than 98,000 homes. This program allows residents to recycle paper, cardboard, glass and plastic in a single container, while deferring waste from local landfills.
There is an annual fee of $25 (equals $0.96 per pickup) which is applied to each household to support this program. This fee will be included on the county's real estate tax bill, with $12.50 charged in December and the other $12.50 charged in June each year. The fee will be for all single-family through quadplex homes and is to be paid by the homeowner. If you would like to participate in the recycling program, please contact CVWMA at 340-0900, to purchase a bin or request free recycling stickers for containers you own.
This program offers an "opt-out" feature, which allows residents who do not want to participate in the program a way to stop receiving the curbside recycling service. Residents who opt out are not required to pay the $25 annual fee. To opt-out, call the Customer Service Center at (804)748-1297 or complete the electronic form online at chesterfield.gov.
