Crime of the WeekChesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers, Inc.

October 10, 2008

This week the Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers program needs your help to solve a case of bank-card fraud.

On Sept. 5, between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., a law-firm employee at 901 Moorefield Park Drive had a wallet taken from her desk. The next day, the victim contacted her bank and discovered that her accounts had been emptied. Her bank confirmed seven unauthorized transactions in which more than $800 was stolen.

The suspect was a black or Hispanic male, thin build, wearing a dark-colored shirt and a white ball cap. One of the transaction locations, the BP station at 4224 Beulah Road, had surveillance cameras on-site, and photos of the suspect can be seen on the Web at www.crimesolvers.net.

If you have information about this incident or any unsolved crime or wanted person in the communities or schools of Chesterfield County or the city of Colonial Heights, you may call Crime Solvers at (804) 748-0660 or Text-A-Tip by texting “tip699” plus your tip to CRIMES (274637).  Both methods will keep you anonymous, and if your tip helps to solve a case, you could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.

The Chesterfield County/Colonial Heights Crime Solvers Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that relies on donations to continue providing its anonymous tip-reporting program. No county or city tax dollars are used to fund the program. If you would like more information about Crime Solvers, please visit our Web site at www.crimesolvers.net, or call the business office at (804) 748-1278.
