Goyne-ParkLocated in Chester next to Ecoff Elementary School, this 49-acre site hosts a variety of athletic activities. The western portion of the park offers fields for football, soccer and baseball, as well as tennis courts, a playground, and picnic shelter. The eastern portion of the park features an 18-hole disc golf course. Public access to the disc golf course is not permitted during school hours.

MARY B. STRATTON PARK

5201 Ridgedale Parkway

Mary B. Stratton ParkMary B. Stratton Park features two lighted synthetic turf sports fields. These are the only synthetic turf facilities in the county park system. Future plans for the park include the development of a walking trail to enable visitors to explore the remainder of the park property. This trail will also showcase the site's unique approach to stormwater management; a series of step pools descending 70' that filters stormwater flowing into Falling Creek.

Stratton Park is located off of Rt.10 near Chippenham Parkway, adjacent to the Richmond Kickers soccer complex. Field use is for scheduled events only.

MATOACA PARK

Matoaca-ParkThis 69-acre park located across from Matoaca Middle School East consists of tennis courts, baseball, softball and football fields and a basketball court. Additional facilities include play equipment and restrooms. About two-thirds of the park is pine and hardwood forest, providing good cover for small animals and birds and an opportunity to explore the park's natural aspects.

R. GARLAND DODD PARK AT POINT OF ROCKS

Point-of-Rocks-WalkerThis 176-acre park features several athletic facilities and a diverse natural area. Athletic and picnic areas are concentrated in the upper areas of the park, and access to the lower areas is provided by a system of trails including a floating boardwalk through a freshwater tidal marsh. This area also has historical significance, as the land was the southern end of the Union position during the Bermuda Hundred Campaign. Remnants of Union earthworks can be seen along the park road and trails.

Robious-Landing-ParkRobious Landing Park provides easy access to the James River for kayaking, canoeing, rowing and fishing. The 102-acre site also houses 3.4 miles of trails, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and sand volleyball. James River High School is located adjacent to the park and provides additional facility access.

The county's oldest, this 161-acre site features a complex of ball fields and game courts, a nature center, an archery range, Ruff House Dog Park, garden plots and an extensive system of hard and soft surface nature trails. Other features include picnic shelters, play equipment, concessions and restrooms. These facilities, along with convenient location at Courthouse and Hull Street Roads, make Rockwood Park a popular choice for numerous recreational uses.
