Tax Assistance and Exemption Programs
The following programs offer full or partial tax exemptions, tax credits,
or tax deferments for qualifying property owners.
- Special Assessment (Land Use) Program – This
program is designed to promote the preservation of land for public benefit
and is based on use value rather than market value. There are four qualifying
uses: agricultural, horticultural, forest and open space. For more information

- Rehabilitation of Historic Properties – This
incentive program is designed to protect and preserve our historic properties
and offers partial tax exemption for the rehabilitation or renovation

- Rehabilitation of Commercial & Industrial Properties
– This incentive program is designed to protect and preserve our
maturing neighborhoods and offers partial tax exemption for the rehabilitation,
renovation or replacement of qualifying structures. For more information

- Rehabilitation of Residential Properties –
This incentive program is designed to protect and preserve our maturing
neighborhoods and offers partial tax exemption for the rehabilitation,
renovation or replacement of qualifying structures. For more information

- Tax Exemptions – The exempt classification,
or real estate not subject to taxation, applies to real estate owned
and exclusively used by organizations that meet the specific state mandates
(i.e., churches, lodges, civic and educational associations, federal,

- Tax Relief for the Elderly or Disabled – This
program is income based for individuals over the age of 65 or totally
disabled. Other requirements apply. For more information

- Enterprise Zone – This program is designed
to promote the revitalization of designated areas by increasing economic
activity. For more information contact the Department

- Automated Payment Service – The Treasurer’s
Automated Payment Service allows residents to schedule payments for
