Glossary of Terms

Account Number: Property owner's identification number assigned by the Treasurer's Office
Acreage: Number of acres legally recorded on the deed of conveyance, if applicable
Acres: Number of acres legally recorded on the deed of conveyance, if applicable
Air Conditioning: Indicates the type of central air conditioning installed in the commercial building
Air Conditioning: Indicates the number of air conditioning units installed in the residential building
Area: Total square feet of area in the building segment
Assessment History: List of prior year assessments
Assessment Year: Effective year of the property assessment
Base Parcel Information: Detailed information relating specifically to the selected property record
Basement: Indicates if there is a basement and, if so, the type (full, partial, daylight, etc.)
Basement Fin: Indicates the percent of basement area that is finished living space
Bedrooms: Number of bedrooms in the building
Bsmt. Fin. Area: Indicates the number of square feet of finished area in the basement
Bsmt. Unfin. Area: Indicates the number of square feet of unfinished basement area
Building(s) Value: Assessed value of all improvements on the land (buildings, sheds, etc.)
C/O Owners Name: Person(s) to whom property and billing information are mailed
Chimney 1: Indicates number of chimneys, chimney construction type and number of fire boxes
Chimney 2: Indicates number of chimneys, chimney construction type and number of fire boxes
Chimney 3: Indicates number of chimneys, chimney construction type and number of fire boxes
Class: Identifies the construction classification of a commercial/industrial building
Condition: Describes the general condition of the building (fair, good, etc.)
Construction: Identifies whether the building or structure is wood frame, steele frame, etc.
County Sewer: Indicates if county sewer is available, not available or connected at the property
County Water: Indicates if county water is available, not available or connected at the property
Curbing: Indicates if curbing is available or not available at the property
Current Assessment: Information relating to the current year's assessment
Current Sales Information: Information relating to the most recent property conveyance
Daylight Basement: Indicates that the basement has at least one exterior wall fully exposed
Deed: Written legal instrument used to convey real estate or interest in real estate
Deed Book: Legal reference used to identify and locate a recorded deed
Deed Page: Legal reference used to identify and locate a recorded deed
Dimensions: Numeric (distance) and alpha (directional) codes which trace the building perimeter
District: Identifies the magisterial district in which the property is located
Dormers: (Top of page) Number and type of dormers on the building (single, double, bathroom, etc.)
Easement %: Indicates if an easement is present and the percent of easement to the total parcel size
Eff Date: The effective date of the annual or supplemental assessment
Effect Age: Effective age is the age of a building as affected by its condition
Elevator: Indicates if the commercial/industrial building has an elevator
Electricity: Indicates if electricity is available, not available or connected at the property
Ext Finish: Type of exterior covering on the structure
Exterior: Type of exterior covering on the building (cedar siding, wood composite, etc.)
Exterior Finish: Type of exterior covering on the structure
Finished Area: Number of square feet of finished living space, excluding basement area
Flood Plane %: Indicates if flood plane is present and the percent of flood plane to the total parcel size
Floor: Indicates the type of floor covering in the building, excluding baths
Foundation: Foundation construction (brick, brick and block, slab, etc.)
Full Baths: Number of full baths (full bath includes sink, water closet plus a tub and/or shower)
Full Basement: The basement perimeter is the same as the main building segment
Gas: Indicates if gas is available, not available or connected at the property
Half Baths: Number of half baths (half bath includes sink and water closet)
Heating: (Top of page) Type of central heating in the building (oil hot air, heat pump, electric baseboard, etc.)
Interior: Type of interior wall covering in the building (plaster, dry wall, etc.)
Land Use Value: Adjusted land value if the property qualifies for a land preservation special assessment
Land Value: Full assessed value of the land
Legal: Legal description of the property as recorded in the deed of conveyance
Legal Description: Identifying description of a parcel of land as recorded in the deed of conveyance
Lower Level: In a tri-level, quad-level or split foyer, indicates % of area finished in the lower level
Magisterial District: Identifies the magisterial district in which the property is located
Mailing Address: Address to which property and billing information are mailed
Occupancy: Numerical code which identifies a commercial building's use
Owners Name: Name of the property owner as recorded on the deed of conveyance
Ownership History: A listing of previous owners
Ownership Type: Identifies type of ownership (private, local government, church owned, etc.)
Parcel ID Number: A geographic map coordinate used to identify and locate a property
Partial Basement: Indicates that the basement perimeter is less than that of the main building segment
Paved Streets: Indicates if paved streets are available or not available at the property
% Complete: Indicates the stage of completion of the building (100%, 50%, etc.)
Perimeter: (Top of page) Indicates the length of the perimeter of the commercial/industrial building if known
Plat: A plan or map of a section or a subdivision showing boundaries of individual properties
Plat Book: Location of a recorded plat; legal reference used to locate a recorded plat
Plat Page: Legal reference used in conjunction with the plat book number to locate a recorded plat
Property Address: Street address assigned to the property
Property Card: Provides collective details of the property
Property Class: Identifies classification of the property (single-family, agricultural, industrial, etc.)
Remark Date: Reflects the date the remark was entered on the property record
Remark Text: Includes details relating to mapping, ownership, and property descriptions
Remark Type: Identifies the type of remark--mapping (MAP), ownership (OWN) or general (GEN) 
Roof: Type of roof covering on the building (composition shingle, wood shake, slate, etc.)
Rooms: Number of rooms in the building, excluding baths
Sale Date: Date the property conveyance (sale) was recorded by the Circuit Court Clerk's Office
Sale Price: Price for which the property sold as recorded by the Circuit Court Clerk's Office
Segment: A section of the building coded to identify the improvement type and area (sq. ft.)
Septic: Indicates if a septic system is available, not available or connected on the property
Sprinkler Area: Indicates the number of square feet covered by a sprinkler system
Status: (Top of page) Differentiates between an active parcel and an inactive (voided) parcel
Stories: Identifies story height of the building or structure (one-story, two-story, etc.)
Story: Indicates the type or use of the segment (one story, open porch, deck, etc.)
Story Height: Height in feet of the commercial structure
Storm Drains: Indicates if storm drains are available or not available to the property
Style: Identifies the design/style of the building or structure (colonial, contemporary, etc.)
Subdivision: A subdivided tract of land; each subdivision is named and identified by a recorded plat
Tax Bill: Copy of the property tax bill generated by the Treasurer's Office
Total Area: Total square feet of area in the structure
Total Assessment: Assessed value of the land and all improvements on the land (i.e., buildings, structures)
Type Identifies the type of miscellaneous structure, i.e., swimming pool, storage shed, etc.
Unfinished Area: Total number of square feet of unfinished space
Use: Identifies the type or use of the structure, i.e., single dwelling, office building, swimming pool, storage shed, etc.
Well: Indicates if a well is available, not available or connected on the property
Will: Written legal declaration for disposition of a person's possessions after death
Will Book: Legal reference used to identify and locate a recorded will
Will Page: (Top of page) Legal reference used to identify and locate a recorded will
Year Add: The year in which the last addition was made to the building
Year Built: The year in which the building's construction was 100 % complete
Year Remodel: The year in which the building was last renovated or remodeled
