Do you want the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Chesterfield County youths?

The Chesterfield County Youth Planning and Development Department is seeking youths to serve on the Youth Services Citizen Board. If you are a junior attending Meadowbrook, Monacan, Manchester or Community high school, and want to have a positive impact on the community, this could be the volunteer opportunity for you. Youth board members attend monthly meetings and plan programs to benefit Chesterfield County youths

The Youth Services Citizen Board (YSCB) was formed in 1978 by the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors. The YSCB is comprised of two adult representatives from each of the five magisterial districts and two youth representative from each of the county's high schools. The Board of Supervisors appoints the adult members for a three year term and youth for a one year term. Members may be reappointed to serve a second term. The purpose of the YSCB is to advise the Board of Supervisors regarding issues relating to youth and to provide opportunities for community input on youth issues in Chesterfield County. The Department of Youth Planning and Development solicits youths and adults to fill vacancies on the board each spring. If interested, contact Youth Planning and Development at (804) 796-7100.
