Shelter Sites

Picnic Shelters are available at these county parks. Go to Park Sites to see detailed information on the park, shelter and to access a park map.

  • Goyne Park – 1 shelter
  • Harrowgate Park – 1 shelter
  • Harry G. Daniel Park at Iron Bridge – 5 shelters
  • Huguenot Park – 2 shelters
  • R. Garland Dodd Park at Point of Rocks – 5 shelters
  • Robious Landing Park – 3 shelters
  • Rockwood Park – 4 shelters

Fee Information

Reservations for a party of more than 150 people is subject to Parks and Recreation approval and will incur a $1 per person additional fee.

$45 per shelter, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. $55 per shelter, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
$85 per shelter, all day $95 per shelter, all day
$45 per shelter , 3 - 8 p.m. $55 per shelter, 3 - 8 p.m.

REFUNDS: Refunds will be granted until two (2) weeks before the reservation date and they must be requested in writing to the Department of Parks and Recreation. No refunds will be allowed after this time. There will be a $25 processing fee on all refunds. Refunds will not be made in case of inclement weather. Rain dates are not available. Cancellation information: a $25 non-refundable "holding fee" will be required for an organization to hold a shelter. The fee will be applied toward the rental cost. All facility reservations will be held for two weeks from the date reservations are made. If payment is not received within this two-week period, the reservation will be canceled without notice.

Reservation Information

Picnic Shelters can be reserved after January 1 each year by calling 751-4696. Reservations are available from mid-March through mid November and must be made at least two weeks in advance. "Reservation Calendars" are posted on the shelters. Ball fields can be reserved by calling 751-4199 after March 15.

A shelter is a 24-feet by 24 feet covered area with 9 to 12 picnic tables. Some shelters are equipped for the disabled.

Grills are provided as well as trash receptacles. Park restrooms are available for use mid-March through November. Water and electricity are available at various shelter sites. Volleyball nets and horseshoe pits are included with a reservation with the exception of Iron Bridge Shelter 3. (Equipment must be provided by the renting group/individual.)
