Mission Statement

Our mission is to design, construct and maintain quality facilities that serve all citizens in a safe and environmentally friendly manner; to ensure all county citizens are provided a comprehensive system of recreational opportunities; and, to surpass customer expectations by providing exceptional leadership through fiscal, administrative integrity and technological support.

Parks and Recreation Department Office Hours

The department office is open from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on government holidays. Program registration is received between the hours of 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Field Closing Status for Athletic Sites - update weekdays at 4:00p.m.

Field Closings: Decisions regarding weekday field closings due to weather conditions are not made until 4 p.m. weekdays. Decisions regarding games at outdoor school sites are made by league commissioners.
Facility Closings: If you are not sure about the status of a facility or activity, first call the hotline, then try the appropriate staff, and then Parks and Recreation at 748-1623.
