Bensley Community Center

Bensley Community CenterThe Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department offers youths, adults and seniors a wide variety of programs at the Bensley Community Building. Some of the types of programs that are offered consist of aerobic classes, workshops, special events and arts and crafts classes. These programs are made possible by the Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department and a Community Development Block Grant.

The Bensley Community Building is located at 2900 Drewry's Bluff Road in Bensley Park and is rented on a first-come first served basis. The 5,000+ square foot building contains an arts and crafts room and a multi-purpose room. An hourly charge will be applied.

The building is available for rentals on Fridays, Saturdays and even Sundays. A staff person from the Bensley Community Building will be present at all rentals.

Bensley Community CenterWe have 150 chairs and 20, 6 ft. tables that you can use at no additional cost.

Reservation/Payment Information

To obtain a reservation request form, please call the Bensley Community Building at (804) 275-5321, Monday - Thursday 8:30-5:00, Friday 8:30-12:00pm.

Make checks payable to: Treasurer of Chesterfield County.

Payment due date: Payment must be received at least three weeks after booking date..

Mail reservation forms/payment to: Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department, Attn: Bensley Buidling P.O. Box 40, Chesterfield, Va. 23832.

Drop off reservation forms/payment at: Bensley Community Building, 2900 Drewry’s Bluff Rd., or Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation Department, 6801 Mimms Loop, Chesterfield.

Event at Bensley Community CenterRental Procedure

1. No alcohol beverages of any type are allowed inside or outside the building.

2. The person making a request to rent the building must first inquire if the building is available at the time needed. If available, the staff person will pencil the request in the reservation book.


3. Information and rental application are available at the building or can be mailed upon request.

4. The "Facility Rental and User Group" application form must be completed and returned to the Bensley Community Building or mailed to Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation/

5. A rental request can be held for up to three weeks without payment. If payment in full is not received within three weeks of making the request, the request will be removed from the reservation book.

Event at Bensley Community Center6. All groups or individuals interested in renting the Bensley Community Building are encouraged to come by or view the building before requesting a date.

7. A special event permit may be required.

8. Refunds will be granted up until one week before the reservation date. All refund requests must be received in writing to the previously stated address. Refunds will take approximately two weeks to process.
