Juvenile Detention Home

Visitation Information

Parental Visitation

Visitation InformationVisiting hours are Wednesday, 6:30-7:30 p.m., and Sunday, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Visitation is limited to parents, stepparents and legal guardians. Picture identification is required. Alternate visiting times require administrative approval. Purses, keys, cell phones, cameras, tobacco products, lighters, food and beverages are not permitted in the detention home. Please leave these items in your car or use the lockers provided in the visitors lobby. Mail can only be distributed through the U.S. Postal Service. Please restrict items to be left for the juveniles to the following items:

  • Money - You may leave money for the residents to purchase soft drinks and items from the snack machine. Residents may purchase items on a daily basis if they have accumulated points for good behavior and have money.
  • Medication - You may bring a resident prescribed medication in its original bottle with a valid date.
  • Personal - Hygiene items-Accepted only if approved by medical staff
  • Schoolbooks - You are encouraged to bring a resident work from his or her school.

All visitors are subject to electronic search upon entry. Appropriate attire is required. Visitors that appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed entry. Hostile, argumentative or disruptive visitors will be asked to leave immediately.

Professional Visitors

We will accommodate professional visitors 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In order to provide the best customer service and to avoid possible time delays, we suggest that attorneys, court counselors, probation officers, ministers, social workers and other professionals visit Monday through Friday, 8:30-11 a.m., 12:30-2 p.m. or 3:30-5 p.m.
