Form
Small low-branched tree with a rounded crown and wide-spreading
branches.
Leaves

Alternate, simple, 1" 3 ½ " long, ½ to1 ½"
wide. Wedge shaped with straight sides. Leaf has smooth surface
with axillary tufts beneath. Dark green surface.
Fall Color
Yellow and red.
Stem/Buds/Bark
Stem is rounded and crooked. Smooth gray-brown bark with irregular
orange-brown fissures.
Flowers
White with yellow stamen, fragrant, bell shaped. Each flower
is on a 1 ½" long stalk, each with 3 6 flowers.
Flowering Time
May - June
Fruit
Dry drupe, gray, egg shaped about ½" long. August and falls
in November. Has a single hard seed.

Excellent small tree for use as a patio tree, screen, grouping,
or massing. .
