Day Reporting Center

The Day Reporting Center (DRC) provides a sentencing alternative to the Courts of Chesterfield County and the City of Colonial Heights.  This alternative fills the gap for substance-addicted offenders between probation and jail or prison, both in terms of severity and personal restrictions imposed on the offender.  An individual sentenced to the DRC must report frequently, often daily, to the program, which not only monitors his/her activities and whereabouts, but also assesses the offender's treatment needs and provides rehabilitative services onsite.  Participants, referred only by the courts, are required to seek or maintain appropriate employment and perform community service.  By providing treatment and educational resources, offenders are given the opportunity to become employed, drug free, and contributing members of our community.

Services

The Day Reporting Center Staff, as members of the criminal justice community, are committed to providing effective supervision and treatment to offenders. Supervision of DRC participants is maintained to promote public safety and positive lifestyle changes in offenders.  The goals are accomplished through a comprehensive intake process, individualized treatment planning and structured supervision.  A number of services are offered by the DRC including:

  • Intensive Supervision
  • Employment Development
  • Educational Services
  • Substance Abuse Education and Treatment
  • Random Drug/Alcohol Testing
  • Community Service
  • Moral Reconation Therapy (Cognitive Behavioral modification program)
