Domestic violence is an ongoing problem that continues to plague all communities across racial, gender and economic barriers. J&DR Local Probation Officers are primarily responsible for cases involving domestic situations. CCS has the responsibility of promoting public service and public safety by providing effective community supervision. CCS assists offenders to responsibly remain in the community through intervention, innovative treatment and educational resources. In addition, J&DR Local Probation provides a mechanism for victim safety and information by working closely with Victim Witness, Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center, County Domestic Violence Coordinator, Police/Sheriff’s Departments, Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, area YWCA’s and shelters. CCS strives to end domestic violence by promoting offender education, accountability and responsibility.
