Our Mission
To provide culturally sensitive services; to victims of domestic and sexual violence, and stalking; while promoting healthy relationships as we strive to enhance our coordinated community response to domestic violence among our county and state partners, and the community at large.
Our Vision
The Chesterfield County Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center coordinates with agencies to overcome negative societal norms, gender inequalities and systemic oppression to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking through providing quality services and enriched programming.
Office Description
The Domestic and Sexual Violence Resource Center is a county office located within the Chesterfield Community Corrections Services. The center serves as the hub for the County's coordinated response to domestic and sexual violence. The center works closely with Chesterfield County agencies and service providers to enhance the understanding of individual components of the system's response to domestic violence while identifying opportunities for collaboration and improvement. A goal of the center is to develop county wide policies and practices that consistently value victim safety and offender accountability.
The center works with the Chesterfield: Police Department, Commonwealth Attorney's Office, Victim Witness Program, Community Services Board, Social Services, Health Department, Magistrates Office, Juvenile & Domestic Relations Courts, Community Corrections and Pretrial Services and networks with domestic and/or sexual violence victim and offender services to develop common goals and integrated services for families in crisis.
The center acts as a resource for county wide service providers, victims or offenders as appropriate, by assisting to link professionals and citizens with available services in the community.
