Landscape for Life

Interested in making your home and garden more sustainable? 

The Landscape for Life educational series instructs homeowners on how to create and maintain healthy and beautiful landscapes using native plants, soils and the climate to minimize impacts on our local watersheds. Homeowners learn how to work with nature, no matter where they live, whether they garden in a city or suburban lot, a 20-acre farm or a common area of a condominium.

What: The cost of the program is $75.00 which covers the cost of class materials.
When: Thursday’s Feb 15 – March 22, 2018, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Where: Cooperative Extension Office, 9501 Lori Road, Chesterfield, 23832 (New location after January 1, 2018)

COURSE DETAILS  

You won't just learn about sustainable gardening concepts; you will apply the concepts to your own landscape!

Each week you will

  •  build upon a base map of your very own landscape
    • applying the concepts you learned in that session.
  • analyzing your soil for nutrients and pH
  • class projects to determine soil texture
  • plant selections
  • and more

At the end of the course you will have a customized, useful tool to help you make your landscape beautiful and healthy.
