4H National Volunteer Week 

4-H Volunteer -  Volunteer with us!

  • Are you interested in leading a club?  
  • Do you have a special talent that you would like to share with youths?  
  • Do you have a passion for getting youths involved in their communities?  
  • If you answered yes to any of these questions, then 4-H needs you! 

We are actively seeking volunteers to help the youth of Chesterfield County grow into confident leaders.

Plant Exchange

Master Gardener Volunteer

Training includes:

All aspects of horticulture, including

  • lawn care
  • trees and shrubs
  • vegetable gardening
  • pest management

Master Food Volunteer 

Master Food Volunteer

Training includes:

  • Basic Nutrition and Meal Planning
  • Cooking Techniques and Food Safety
  • Exercise and healthy lifestyles

Opportunities for services:

  • Food Demonstrations & displays at health fairs, farmer’s markets and schools
  • Grocery store tours
  • Newspaper or newsletter articles on healthy eating, physical activity, and food preparation

Extension Leadership Council

If you are looking for a minimal volunteer commitment and want to make an impact in your community, then we are for you! Members are expected to

  • attend quarterly meetings.
  • help out with Extension Programs.
  • be a voice and advocate for Extension.
  • promote Extension programs in the community.

The Extension Leadership Council exists to develop and implement a program plan that will direct resources toward the resolution of identified issues and concerns.
