This unit is responsible for recruiting/processing applicants and hiring sworn and non-sworn personnel in various positions throughout the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office Human Resource Department also works in conjunction with the Chesterfield County Human Resources Department in coordinating and administering the promotional process.

Training Academy

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office Training Academy was established by Sheriff Clarence G. Williams, Jr. on July 1, 1992. The Academy began with a desire to furnish the highest achievable level of professional criminal justice training. The Academy continues its goal of offering entry-level and in-service training to not only Chesterfield County Sheriff’s deputies but to other agencies as well. The Department of Criminal Justice Services mandates the basic requirements for the annual training of all Sheriff’s deputies.

 

 

Logistics

This section is responsible for measuring, ordering and distributing uniforms and equipment for the Sheriff’s Office and its personnel. Logistics also maintains the vehicle fleet for the Sheriff’s Office.
