Swift Creek Reservoir Survey Water Quality Analyses

Addison-Evans Water Production and Laboratory Facility

Data subject to change
Data has been reviewed by analysts and Quality Control / Quality Assurance Coordinator. However, not all errors may have been corrected or deleted as needed and may be corrected in following updates.

Trace Metals results pending
Samples are analyzed in order of arrival with priority given to analyses with shorter holding times. Trace metals have the longest holding time (6 months), are performed by complex instrumentation analyses, and have no analyst's time solely dedicated to their analysis due to current staff workload. The results for trace metals will most often be the last entered.

Bacteria Monitoring
As of June 2002, a new test method was used to evaluate bacteria in the untreated waters of the reservoir. The IDEXX “Quantitray MPN Method” measures Escherichia coli colony forming units per volume; whereas the “MFC Membrane Filter Method” measures fecal coliforms colony forming units per volume (using an Escherichia coli Medium for growth). The methods are relatively comparable in numbers, however the Quantitray method provides a lower detection limit.
