Right of Way DepartmentThe Right of Way Office is responsible for the acquisition of easements and land for county use, reviewing site plans and subdivision plats to ensure all necessary easements and rights of way are obtained, recording subdivision plats, processing vacations of easements and rights of way, licenses to work on county easements, abandonment of state-maintained roads, conveyance of easements across county property, and sales of surplus property. Process legal documents, invoices and interdepartmental transfers. Acquire land, easements and rights of way for county projects.
Negotiate and process county leases. Processes applications for vacations, licenses and abandonment of state maintained roads Processes easements for commercial developments (site plans) and county projects. Reviews and records subdivision plats.
Processes off-site easements for subdivisions. Performs title research.
