Deteriorating structures, overgrown weeds, and yard debris discourage nearby property owners from maintaining their property. Isolated problems, if not corrected, can mushroom into neighborhood wide blight. Chesterfield County has adopted minimum standards for property and buildings to assist citizens in the maintenance of their community. Pro-active code compliance inspections are conducted in the Village of Ettrick and the Jefferson Davis Corridor. Other areas are inspected on a complaint basis. See contact information below. Enterprise ZonesChesterfield County has established enterprise zones in select locations in order to encourage redevelopment and reinvestment in these older areas. Planning is a powerful tool to assess the strengths and weaknesses of an area, facilitate the involvement of citizens in the future of their area, and develop strategies for improvement.
