Ettrick Village Project
Chesterfield County is actively involved with the Ettrick community in the improvement of the village area and removal of blight. Virginia State University is a major positive presence in Ettrick and the university, county and local Ettrick leadership must work together for the positive development of Ettrick village.
The comprehensive plan for the Village of Ettrick was adopted by Chesterfield County in 2004. See the plan
Many implementation programs and projects have been completed in Ettrick over the last 15 years. Key among these actions are:
- Sidewalk and lighting improvements
- Removal and rehabilitation of blighted buildings
- Zoning ordinance changes to facilitate reinvestment in the village core,
- Construction of a community center in Ettrick Park
- Pro-active building and property code enforcement
- Development and profitable management of a small business incubator
