Water Quality

Water QualityThe Water Quality Team has been implementing programs to preserve, protect and restore the chemical, biological and physical integrity of Chesterfield County's streams, rivers and lakes since 1996. The county is fortunate to have approximately 1300 miles of streams, three reservoirs and about 124 miles of riverfront along the Appomattox and James Rivers. In addition to our efforts to preserve and protect the county's water bodies, we also provide a variety of services to Chesterfield citizens as well as volunteer opportunities. This site describes the services we provide, contains several reports on the quality of our streams as well as a series of fact sheets on various water quality issues. The Water Quality Team consists of the Water Quality Manager, a Senior Water Quality Analyst, a Water Quality Analyst, a Water Quality GIS Analyst, a Water Quality Educational Outreach Coordinator, and a Water Quality Specialist.
