Budget & Management

Community Contributions

As part of the annual budget development process, Chesterfield County's Board of Supervisors considers requests for financial assistance from not-for-profit organizations that provide services to the residents of Chesterfield County.

Community Agency funding application

Download the application in MS Word.

CAFundingApp.DOC - MS Word format

The document is also available from the Budget and Management office at 9901 Lori Road, Room 402, Chesterfield, Virginia, 23832, or by calling 804-748-1548. Submit completed application to diasp@chesterfield.gov or mail to the address above. Completed applications must be received by November 15th of each year for funding during the following fiscal year which begins July 1st.

Acknowledgment of all requests will be made in writing from the Office of Budget and Management and all eligible requests will be presented to the Board of Supervisors in early March as part of the County Administrator's proposed budget. Representatives of all organizations, requesting funding from the county, are welcome to address the Board of Supervisors at an advertised public hearing held in March.

The Board of Supervisors adopts the annual financial plan in mid to late April. The plan includes the donation and community contract recipients for the upcoming fiscal year. Those organizations approved for funding by the Board will receive written notification in May, although funds cannot be disbursed until after July 1st of that year.

The County Attorney's Office will work with each organization to determine if a contract is needed and to define the obligations and/or services to be provided to the County by the recipient. If a contract is required, funds will not be disbursed until the contract has been executed by all parties. If a contract is not required, requests for disbursement of funds must be made in writing after July 1st as mentioned above.

For further information about county community contracts and donations, contact Paula Dias (804) 748-1548.
