Libraries - $35.6 million
Plans for three new libraries, one library expansion, renovations,
technology upgrades and 50 percent matching funds for a community
arts center adjacent to the Chester Library branch are included
in this bond issue. The library plan includes $41.5 million, of
which $35.6 million is bond funds and $5.9 million is contributions
from other funding sources. The planned projects include:
- Two new libraries - Reams-Gordon and Robious Road areas
- An expansion of Meadowdale Library
- Renovations at Bon Air and Ettrick-Matoaca libraries
- Preliminary planning for a Route 360 west area library
- Technology upgrades in all existing libraries
- 50 percent matching funds for a community arts center adjacent
to Chester Library
