Kelly E. Miller
Chairman, Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors
Board of Supervisors Chairman Kelly E. Miller has served the Dale District since 2000. He currently serves as Chairman and was also elected as chairman in 2002 and 2004.
He is a 30-year resident of the Dale District who served 18 years as a member of the Chesterfield Planning Commission, including several terms as chairman.
Miller was born in Georgia and grew up in North Carolina. He received a bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and law degree from Tulane University. He served as general attorney with the U.S. Defense Department and served four years as assistant attorney general for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Engaged in the private practice of law since 1969, he has maintained a law office in the Meadowbrook area of the Dale District for over 20 years. Miller also served as Commissioner in Chancery for the Circuit Court.
He is a member of the Chesterfield Republican Committee and has been active in numerous civic organizations, including the Parent-Teacher Association. He is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. His wife, Edith, retired after 30 years as a teacher in Chesterfield County. He has two daughters, one of whom is a teacher in the county while the other is a certified public accountant. He has three grandchildren who attend school in Chesterfield County and one granddaughter who attends NC State.
Miller currently serves on the Richmond Regional Planning District Commission and the Capital Region Airport Commission.
