Deputy County Administrators

Rebecca T. Dickson, Human Services

Oversees the daily operations of Community Corrections Services, Extension Services, Health Department, Juvenile Detention Home, Juvenile Group Home, Court Services, Public Libraries, Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Substance Abuse, the Lucy Corr Nursing Home, Parks and Recreation, Social Services and Youth Planning and Development.

William E. Johnson III , Management Services

Oversees the operations of General Services, including the Chesterfield County Airport; as well as the departments of Risk Management; Purchasing; Accounting; the License Inspector; Assessor; Information Systems Technology; Internal Audit; and serves as liaison for the constitutional officers and courts and Registrar.

M. D. "Pete" Stith, Jr., Community Development

Oversees the operations of Building Inspection, Economic Development, Environmental Engineering, Planning, Community Development Block Grant Program, Office of the Ombudsman, Transportation and Utilities. As deputy administrator, he led the effort to develop the county's Black History Month program and establish the fast-track development review process. More recently, he posted commercial site plans on the Internet.

Marilyn E. Cole, Assistant County Administrator for Administration and Government Affairs

Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the County Administrator's Office and serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Supervisors. Administers the County Administrator's Response System (CAReS) for addressing inquiries, compliments and complaints from citizens. Oversees Intergovernmental Relations (Legislative Affairs), Total Quality Initiatives, Clerk to Board's Office, Special Events, and regional projects. Also coordinates staff support for County's Committee on the Future and the regional James River Advisory Council.
